When I was young I would lie on my back and stare into the sky watching the forming clouds churn & dissolve and reform like magic. Once during a dry heat storm I spotted a funnel cloud winding its torulous body into life. It was alive! These drawings incarnate this awakening.

Using a woodless pencil that is hand sharpend to a long tapered point, the spiral drawings usually begin from a center point in the page. The spiral grows in accordance with the attributes of the line's past. They are executed in one sitting. The drawing below right began from the outer periphery and grew inwards.
